Everyday Mindfulness
Updated: Apr 22, 2022
Mindful living means being present in the thoughts, feelings, and sensations of the current experience - most importantly, present for joy and connection! We practice mindfulness to enhance our capacity to live mindfully. In addition to the practices offered on the myKinCloud app, we wanted to share a few other fun activities that you can do as a family to promote mindful living.
Laugh. Laughter is one of the best ways to anchor yourself in the present moment. Tell a joke, get into a tickle fight, do something goofy. Giggle away!
Make Flower Mandalas. Select your favorite flowers or leaves, and create! Make a design, then break it apart and make another. Practice being comfortable with impermanence.
Watch The Sunset. What better way to connect with the present moment than to align with the cycle of the day. Catch a sunrise, if you're an early bird, or a sunset! In the morning, set an intention; in the afternoon, contemplate your gratitude.
Daydream. When was the last time you laid down on the grass and looked up at the sky? Certainly your kids do it, so join them! Not only is it literally grounding, but you can practice non-attachment as you watch the clouds float by.
Be the mindfulness champion in your family! Feel happier, calmer and more connected practicing mindfulness, together.
What other activities can you think of to connect mindfully "off the mat" with your family?
