Book Recommendations from myKinCloud
Updated: Nov 5, 2020

What an exciting way to connect with your kids - through books! We have a recommended list for you that our kids recommended to us. It is such a joyous experience when they are so enthusiastic about a book that they want us to read it as well.
1) Keeper of the Lost Cities, by Shannon Messenger
This is a series of 8 (and soon to be 9) books that my kids have read and re-read. A fantasy adventure about friendship and perseverance. You and your kids will feel like you live in the magical worlds of The Lost Cities. Escape through the adventures of Sophie & friends!
2) The Giver Quartet, by Lois Lowry
This is a series of four books about a Utopian world. Spectacular. Unique. Suspenseful. Emotional. My daughter cried, then I cried, and even though my husband would never admit it, I think he was moved as well.
3) The Magician’s Elephant, by Kate DiCamillo
There is a sense of magic and hope right from the start of this beautiful story.
4) The Boy at the Back of the Class, by Onjali Rauf
Inclusion, friendship, and the refugee crisis are at the heart of this delightful story. An important read that can bring an invaluable discussion with your kids.
5) Wonder, by Raquel Jaramillo
The powerful theme of inner beauty reigns in this book, but my entire family enjoyed the writing style where every chapter is from a different character’s point of view.
